What is the Blue Screen of Death?
The “Blue Screen of Death” (BSOD) is an error screen on Windows computers. It appears when the system encounters a serious problem it can’t fix on its own. Common causes of the BSOD include hardware failures, driver issues, and software conflicts. When this happens, your computer will need to restart. The BSOD shows an error code that can help identify the problem. Windows also creates a memory dump file to help diagnose the issue.
