We always wish someone to type our email, procedure or article. No worries, now with this new dictate feature you can simply talk and dictate feature will type as you speak.
Dictate is one of the Office Intelligent Services, to use this feature you must have Office365 Subscription and you can buy the same from the below link.
Once you setup Office365 on your PC or Mac you will see the microphone icon.
Home > Dictate.
Click on the Dictate icon you will hear the sound and the icon change the with a small red dot, which means you are ready to speak and type.
Once you finish speaking simply click the Dictate icon again to stop the dictation.
You may use the different punctuation to type your content.
- Period/Full stop ( . )
- Comma ( , )
- Question mark ( ? )
- Exclamation point ( ! )
- Exclamation mark ( ! )
- Newline
- New paragraph
- Semicolon ( ; )
- Colon ( : )
- Open quote ( “ )
- Close quote ( ” )
- Open quotes ( “ )
- Close quotes ( ” )
In case if you make mistake while dictating, you can simply use your keyboard to amend the changes without deactivating Dictate feature.
The major part of this blog is written in a Microsoft Word document using the Dictate feature.
Speak clearly as your speech will be sent to Microsoft Intelligent Services and used only to provide you with this service. When the transcription is done your audio and transcription data/results are not stored by their service. check for more details Connected Experiences in Office
